The import value of imported printing equipment was US$2,292.9 million, accounting for 70.52% of the total import amount. The import amount increased by 42.65% compared with 2009. Judging from the classification of goods, only the value of imports of post-impression equipment fell by 9.55%, while other goods all increased by a different margin, of which the value of imports of printing presses increased the most, reaching 56.53%, and that of auxiliary engines and parts increased by 26.22%.

The import value of printing equipment was US$950.45 million, accounting for 29.48% of the total import amount, an increase of 14.94% over 2009. Judging from the classification of goods, the volume of imported offset printing plates has decreased for several consecutive years. In 2010, it decreased by 13.55% compared with 2009; however, the import of printing inks increased by 19.28%.

The export printing equipment export amounted to 1.09618 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 64.73% of the total export value, an increase of 34.92% over 2009. From the perspective of commodity classification, exports of auxiliary machinery and parts only fell by 26.45%. Exports of other varieties increased by a different margin. Among them, export of printing machinery increased by 86.29% compared with 2009. Such a high growth rate is rare; Exports of both types of equipment should also be said to have increased substantially.

The export value of printing equipment was US$5.9741 billion, accounting for 35.27% of the total export value, which was a 29.81% increase over 2009. Judging from the classification of goods, offset printing plates continue to lead, export volume increased by 33.90% compared with 2009; inks and plate-making film exports have also achieved good results.

In order to maintain the consistency of statistical items and data, the following amendments were made to the 2009 import and export data of printing equipment and equipment in accordance with the amendments made by the customs to the tariff numbers and trade names.
